Driving back up the South Coast

Pictures are at the bottom...

With our urgent need to hike out of our system, it was just time to head back up the coast, hitting all the sights that we'd just dashed past on the way down. More pylsur and skyr. We stopped at Dyrhólaey, hoping to see puffins, but it was closed. Apparently they close off the entire area for a few weeks in june for bird nesting. We were two days early.

Checked off Skógarfoss, always a charmer. Yet another closure though when we tried to go to Seljavallalaug. Apparently it was unclean.

So on to Seljalandfoss, then it's just a burn back home. Went to Þrír Frakkar and ate us some whale steaks, delicious as usual, then got to watch Australia play Croatia in the world cup, with some great accompanying bands at Cafe Amsterdam.

And to cap it off, a glorious sunset out by the harbour around midnight.
