My new car is lovely. It's a 2002 Subuaru Outback, base model. $24,559, including $999 for servicing for 36,000 miles. I put $7k down, and got 2.9% financing for two years. I was now up for more each month for my car than for my rent. :) I'd been looking around for a three year old or so model, but they were all about $19k or so, and had 100k miles or so on them. It's lovely. It gets about 22 mpg around town and about 25-26 or so on the road. 300 miles to the tank, with the fuel light only just coming on. Handles wonderfully, with the AWD sticking it to the road like glue. I can't recommend one highly enough. My only complaint is that the back seat leg room is a little short. I picked this up Monday the 10th, and the next night I was bored out of my skull with nothing on tv but WTC this and WTC that. I went for a drive up to skyline, then down page mill and into palo alto. A wonderful drive, lots of fun, and barely a soul out. This was the first of quite a few night time drives, though most of the time the most scenic spots had nowhere safe to pull over and take piccies from.
