I walk up Esja reasonably regularly. I do it for the exercise mostly, which I should always be doing more of, but it's also just a very nice walk. This one day, I was driving out there quite slowly, constantly admiring the way the changing light from the very variable weather was playing all over Reykjavík. Iceland really is just damn pretty.
Anyway, of all the odd things to see, I saw a funnel cloud forming and moving about. Awesome! I was almost tempted to drive back into town and chase it around, and regretted not having my longer lens with me, but hey, can't complain. Getting to see one at all was pretty damn amazing.
I also had a good walk up Esja, though I didn't put my jacket on fast enough after stopping, and have a rather runny nose and a sore throat this morning of course :)
I also took the opportunity this time to walk out a ridge where I thought I'd get a better view. You sure do! Though it's a lot further out to the end of the ridge than it looks from the track :)
