Toby organised an excellent weekend down at his family's holiday house in Lennox Heads. Last time I was there was for his 21st, so I was really looking forward to it. Of course, it was the same weekend as we had an 85th birthday party for my granddad, so I had to go down later. I actually ended up catching a bus down there, with a big bag of clothes, and a carton of beer. Didn't really need either, it wasn't a big beer fest, and I wore the same clothes most of the time. :) We all hung out, blew bubbles from my left over containers from Big Day Out, played at the beach, played in the lagoon.
We learnt that bubbles will bounce of the water, something to do with oil. We got to fly my little pocket sled kite I'd picked up in Key West. I got to swim in warm water, with real waves. I was ecstatic. Some of them were even catchable. Not many, it was a bit of a hodgepodge, but they were waves, and the water was warm. Heaven. Toby served us fabulous food all weekend, and somehow managed to do it insanely cheaply. I suspect the promoter made a loss on this one, but that's his business. We got to eat hamouli cheese, so the punters were happy.
Then unfortunately, it all came to an end. Toby's grandmother had died, and he needed to go to the funeral, and most other people had to be back at work on monday morning. Damo, Cacey, Jono and myself stayed the sunday night, with yet more bubbles, and headed back home on monday morning.
