Day 2, hitting up the sights along the south we'd burnt past the day before. But first, getting up. Scott woke early, and woke me with the glory of the dawn light. Even looking out the door it looked good, so I got up far earlier than I normally like, and we drove back around to Jökulsárlón to get some pictures in the dawn light. Beautiful.
Explored a lot of side roads heading back west, at least, I did, while Scott slept. Coffee and fig cake for breakfast at Svínafellsjökull, then a walk out to actually get on the glacier at Skaftafellsjökull. Reminded me a bit too much of my last trip, but once you get your footing again, it was fun.
Next stop, Svartifoss, under a sunny blue sky. A good leg stretch, then back in the car. We stopped off for an afternoon swim at Seljavellirlaug, which is always a nice refresher, then just Seljalandsfoss before the drive back across the south land and home.
A classic weekend away, in the Scott and Karl tradition.
