The Gorch Fock, a german navy sail training vessel was in town. It had been on the front page of Fréttablaðið earlier in the week, in a beautiful photo and then it turned up on our doorstep. I'd heard through the embassy that it was meant to be leaving under full sail at 10am on monday morning, so I went into work a bit late, and braved a bitterly cold northern wind, and went to take some pictures.

Unfortunately, the wind was from the wrong direction, or two strong, or both, but they ended up just motoring off, at least until they were clear of Reykjanes. Oh well. One day I'll get to see a tall ship under full sail :)
