The first day of the Old Norse month of Þorri is "Bóndadagur", loosely husband's day. The last day of the month is "Konudagur" or woman's day. Having a pair of days like this is a much better idea than Valentines day!

Amongst other things, I made Kata a Pavlova! I've never made one before, you really need a mixer to get the egg whites whipped well enough, but, we recently acquired a mixer, and I saw some passionfruit at the grocery store during the week and went for it!

It was delicious, and came out as well as I could expect for a first try. It collapsed more while it was cooling than I had hoped, but just gives me an excuse to make it again!
